Phil Burbank is serious, pale, handsome, very cruel. All of Phil’s stories of love, strength, and fragility are captured in the past and on earth: he can clean a bull with two quick knife blows; he swam naked in the river, kissing his body with dirt. He cooks raw like his camouflage. It was 1925. Brother Burbank was the guardian of a wealthy district of Montana. On the way to the market, the brothers met Rose, a widowed owner, and her wonderful son at the Red Mill restaurant. Phil is so cruel that it makes them cry, rejoice, hurt them, and make their friends laugh — all but his brother George, who reassures Rose and then marries him again. As Phil crosses between anger and betrayal, Rose is frightened in a frightening way – she hangs on the edge of her vision, whistling a tone she can no longer play. His mockery of his son was more open, which was intensified by the cries of students, hand-held cows. Then Phil apparently took the boy under his wing. Is this the last mitigating step that makes Phil vulnerable, or is the plot even more threatening? Netflix
