Paiton is a young black man who has the opportunity to marry in the highest strata of black society. But first he has to reveal a secret, an unborn child with an ex-girlfriend. He urgently needs money and time away from his fiancée, who knows nothing about the baby. He finds the solution with the rich and stubborn Gregory Devereauke (Keith David), an older man who regularly eats at his favorite dinner. Employed by Devereauk’s daughter as a nanny, Paiton quickly becomes Gregoris’ trust, and Paiton’s problems seem to disappear. But as Devereauk approaches death — quickly approaching marriage and the birth of a baby — Gregory’s past sins force Paiton to watch his decisions as a husband. In the end, he has to choose: get rich, get rich or do what is right.
