In the distant year 10191 it is known that all planets in the universe were under the control of Emperor Padishah Shaddam IV and that the most important good in the universe is a substance called MELANGE spice, which is said to have the power to “prolong life”. , Expand consciousness and even fold space; can travel any distance without moving physically. This MELANGE spice is said to be found only in the desert of the planet Arrakis, where the FRMEN have a prophecy about a man who will lead them to true freedom. The desert planet Arrakis is also called DUNE. A secret space report from GUILD talks about some of the circumstances and plans that could jeopardize the production of SPICE with four planets involved: ARRAKIS, CALADAN, GIEDI PRIME and KAITAIN, a world that is at least visually very similar to Earth and the home of the emperor from the known universe. GUILD sends a third level navigator to KAITAIN to ask the Emperor for details and demands that the young Paul Atreides, son of Duke Leto Atreides of CALADÀ, be killed.
